Charlie Hill is a Chicago native, who has lived in El Paso for most of his life. He has worked for AT&T and has served in the U.S. Army. He received a business degree in Accounting, from UTEP in 1982. Classics is his first job in broadcasting, and he plans to keep on truckin’ in life and with the show for as long as he can.
Classics of Jazz is three hours of the most diverse and entertaining music around. Charlie Hill gives you an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the sounds of four great genres. The first hour of Classics is devoted to Dixieland, and the second to Big Band music. The final hour features Mainstream Jazz until 12:30am before joining Hill’s original last portion titled “Softly with Feeling.” Here Charlie plays oldies and throws in a few tidbits of information for listeners.
Charlie says he doesn’t give anything too profound, but just enough to give knowledge to listeners. His music is for people who might feel ignored by the commercial media. Dixieland and Big Band music is hard to come by, but Classics offers three hours of first-rate music not heard any where else.
