Norma Martinez, Host
Friday Night Blues
Friday 10:30pm to 1am

Friday Night Blues highlights some of the greatest blues ever recorded. The program is hosted by El Paso’s own queen of the blues, Norma Martinez. Since 1995, Norma has been playing everything from old scratchy recordings of the early 20th century, to the latest in blues rock. You can enjoy hearing all the joys and pains of life from great artists who capture every emotion with a belting harmonica or an electric guitar. Norma plays blues from around world, but no matter where the music comes from, it all hits the hearts of listeners with power.

Host Norma Martinez
Norma Martinez is a tremendous fan of blues music. She has been working at KTEP since she was a student in 1989. Martinez has a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from UTEP. She wears several hats at KTEP, including traffic director, announcer, producer, recording engineer and PSA director. She is also a cellist with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.
