Desert Diaries is a show that tells you everything you never knew about the wonder of our Chihuahuan Desert region. These short natural & cultural history stories provide listeners with information about the flora, fauna, and cultural history of our area. Norma Martinez has been the producer of the show since its debut in 2001

Host Florence Schwein
Florence Schwein says learning tidbits about our place in the world has been intriguing and always fascinating. She worked in museums over 25 years serving as the outreach director for the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.; director of the Cleveland, Ohio, Police Museu, and director of the Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens at UTEP. She has taught Museum Studies at UTEP and art history at Southeastern University, Washington, D.C.; Montgomery County College, Rockville, Maryland; and George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. She is a co-host of El Paso Prime Time on KTEP, Saturdays at 1 p.m.
