  • We’re learning more about the Department of Homeland Security’s plan to expand detention space across the country. El Paso's Congresswoman Veronica Escobar says a private company received nearly $30 million from the federal government to design the new centers and the project includes another facility in El Paso.
  • El Paso Congresswoman Veronica Escobar said Immigration and Customs Enforcement will have a new detention facility in East El Paso County. Escobar said a private corporation received nearly $30 million dollars through a no-bid federal contract to increase detention space including another facility.
  • ICE is reporting another death at the massive detention camp here in El Paso. A Nicaraguan man is the third person to die in custody at the tent facility run by a private contractor.
  • A single vehicle roll over has brought traffic to a halt on Interstate 10 in Hudspeth County, according to the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office. The roll over happened near the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol checkpoint.
  • The Public Service Board approved El Paso Water’s new Water and Wastewater rates for 2026 today. El Paso Water says all residents living in the Northeast and portions of Central have service and adequate water pressure after a main break interrupted access over the weekend.
