  • Nearly 18 thousand El Pasoans turned out on the first day of early voting Monday. El Paso County has five propositions on the ballot.
  • It’s the first day of early voting in In El Paso any voter can choose to cast a ballot at any of the 33 early voting centers.
  • Early voting is underway across Texas. Along with casting ballots for president Congress, and state races -- El Pasoans are deciding several key local races and proposed bond issues.
  • The El Paso Independent School District is recommending the closure of 10 elementary schools. The proposed closures include the elementary schools Hillside, Lamar, Newman, Park, Putnam, Rivera, Rusk, Stanton, Travis and Zavala.
  • A Travis County Judge has granted a temporary restraining order halting the execution of death row inmate Robert Roberson.
