The El Paso City Council approved a $4.76 million dollar purchase of the former Bonham Elementary School from the El Paso Independent School District. Texas House Democrats are calling on state colleges and universities to reserve financial aid for students who have been unable to complete the new federal aid application because their parents or guardians don’t have a social security number. The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth plans to offer classes about nursing careers in jails and prisons.
