Seed Collecting

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Website

On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on seed collection for novice gardeners or tips on what to look for when seed planting within your garden. During the Fall season, planting and sowing Texas natives, harvest, and other wildflower seeds in your garden is a perfect time to get started with pollinating and we wanted to give all of you helpful advice to avoid any hybrid planting or cross-pollination from happening and keeping your plants healthy in your garden. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

Before starting the program here at El Paso in 1981, The Master Gardeners Program has spread throughout the 50 states, Canada, and other countries as well. The love for gardening and search for knowledge is one of the primary reasons for people joining the program. The program also gives back to the community as well, such as classroom gardening, speakers, and community and garden demonstrations with information booths at their local events.
