Pansies are a popular cool-season annual to add color to garden as the colder months approach.

On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on how to winterize your garden by being proactive with your garden to procuring, purchasing, trading, and finding items for your garden to survive during the winter time. During this winter, “El Nino” is forecasted, which can call for rainfall and colder temperatures and we would like you to know that this will be a perfect time to start preparing our garden and yard for the season. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

One of the first programs within the state, the El Paso County Master Gardener was started in 1981 by John White. The love for gardening and the search for knowledge is the primary reason for joining the program. Projects range from classroom gardening, speaker bureaus, Community and demonstration gardens, and information booths.
