Care for Gardening Tools in the Fall

Texas A&M AgriLife photo by Laura McKenzie

On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on caring for your garden tools during the winter season and the differences between using hand tools compared to power tools. Caring for your tools at this time can help them in longevity (or lasting longer throughout the seasons) and plant pathology (not spreading any pest or bacteria throughout your garden, causing damage to your plants.) Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

The Master Gardener program has been expanding throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries. The El Paso Master Gardener program has been in service since 1981 and is still growing with new members today. Volunteers have contributed over 400,000 hours of their time and talent to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
