Container Gardening

Arely Avitia

On this week’s show, Denise, John and Jan offer tips on fruit trees when it comes to growing them in your garden. When growing fruit trees in your garden, we would like to share what to do in caring for them, especially with chill hours, pollination requirements, pruning, maturing, and more. Denise will also provide more updates and information on the El Paso County Master Gardeners programs that will be available for anyone to attend.

Today, there are over 6,000 Texas Master Gardeners based in 112 countries and volunteers have contributed over 400,00 hours of their time and talent. The projects the program can vary, from classroom gardening, speakers, community and demonstration garden, but answering homeowner’s questions by phone is at the heart of most Texas programs. The Texas Master Gardeners are united in name, but the program’s strength lies in its ability to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves.

For more information visit the  El Paso County Master Gardeners website for questions, tips and upcoming calendar events.

This program originally aired on May 4, 2024.
