Born and raised in a very small village miles away from Bangladesh, Dr. Md Nurunnabi dreamed about becoming a businessman, like his father, and taking over the family business. As he started to prepare for college and was disqualified for Electrical Engineering, he decided to major in Pharmacy, where he found his passion. Soon, he became interested in the development of new pharmaceutical drugs.
Dr. Md Nurunnabi is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy and Adjunct faculty in Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Science & Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He is a prolific researcher, having published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and edited two books. He holds 15 issued/pending patents and serves on the editorial advisory board of ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering since 2018. He is also currently serving as Vice-Chair for the Controlled Release Society’s Bioinspired and Biomimetic Delivery focus group. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Nurunnabi has held several leadership roles, including serving as Secretary of the Postdoc Association at Harvard Medical School (2016-2017) and President of the Postdoc Association at Massachusetts General Hospital (2017-2018).
