GOES OUT: On location con DJ Neto

This SONGMINE, Chris goes on a solo expedition deep into downtown-El Paso's entertainment district to visit vinyl enthusiast, record store owner, DJ Neto as he spins MOSTLY 45s. Neto takes us through his collection of those "little ones with the big hole in the middle" (aka 45s) to unearth rare copies and classics among genre defining movements of pop music that are represented by groups today. You'll hear how Spoon takes from Motown as well as The Kinks...how The Heavy and Sharon Jones & Dap Kings have ushered through a new wave of soul...as well as thematic nuggets "songminers" are known to love and more.

Side A and Side B ala 2 hours of music-geek bliss....in the mine. SONGMINE.

Note: Yes, the morning headache was (mostly) worth it (you'll see). Hugz, ©

For his thesis project, Host/Producer/Editor, El Paso native, Chris Telles is utilizing the assets at the University of Texas at El Paso as a ‘lab’ to build what he aspires to become an updated foundation of media delivery and content incubated and generated for and by students via KTEP, by expanding the platform including streaming and ‘podcast’.
