Gaetano Donizetti: Don Pasquale
Champs-Elysées Theatre, Paris
National Orchestra of France
Radio France Chorus
Enrique Mazzola, conductor

CAST: Alessandro Corbelli (Don Pasquale); Désirée Rancatore (Norina); Gabriele Viviani (Dr. Malatesta); Francesco Demuro (Ernesto); Richard Tronc (Notary)

Donizetti wrote any number of irresistible comedies, including The Elixir of Love and The Daughter of the Regiment, and this sparkling score may be the best of them all. From Paris, Alessandro Corbelli does a star turn in the title role, alongside a brilliant performance from Désirée Rancatore as the bumbling Pasquale's wiley adversary.
