Louie welcomes Dr. Roberto Avant-Meir, Associate Professor of Communication at UTEP.  Roberto reads the audio essay, "Of Mice and Mascots," which tells of his love of baseball, his initial excitement about a Triple-A team coming to El Paso, and his disappointment in the team's mascot, which he believes falls into long-held stereotypes about Mexicans and Hispanics.

Aired Dec. 28, 2013.
