According to the National Institute on Deafness, out of every 1,000 children born in the U.S., 2-3 will suffer hearing loss in one or both ears. El Pasoans Mr. and Mrs. David Barber's child lost his hearing at six months due to illness. We had the opportunity to visit with Mr. Barber as he discussed En Voz Alta, a local organization that provides hearing aids for children in the community.
