STATE OF THE ARTS - Cynthia Connolly

Cynthia Connolly is a photographer, artist and curator from Washington, DC.  She grew up in a community of musicians and artists where they booked their own performances and produced and manufactured their own vinyl records.  She was recently in El Paso as part of a book tour that celebrated a book called Banned in DC which was originally released in December of 1988. Banned in DC collects hundreds of photos, flyers, and stories documenting the DC punk scene of the mid-’80s.
