SPECIAL: President Obama's State of the Union Address

Tuesday, January 12, 2016, President Barack Obama will deliver his State of the Union address starting at 7pm. KTEP together with NPR will provide live coverage of the President’s speech as well as the Republican address from Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina. This will be the last State of the Union address of President Obama’s historic presidency.

The President's speech is expected to be different than in years past. Instead of a laundry list of legislative proposals, the speech will be thematic and future-oriented, speaking to the long-term challenges the country faces.

Audie Cornish will host NPR's coverage of the speech. She'll be joined in the studio by White House Correspondent Scott Horsley, National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson and Senior Washington Editor Ron Elving. NPR’s Sue Davis will report live from the House chamber, and White House Correspondent, Tamara Keith will join from Iowa.
