In this special edition of El Paso Prime Time, and as Texas transitions into the 88th Legislative Session, Richard Dayoub from Thunderbird Management welcomes Texas Senator for District 29, Cesar Blanco, and House Representative for District 78, Joe Moody, to the 1st part of the show where they will be talking about their backgrounds, their overview of the Texas Legislature, what happens during the interim and how a bill becomes a law.

Senator Blanco is active in the community as a member of the American Legion, El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Rio Grande Council of Governments (RCOG), the Medical Center of Americas (MCA), and Project Bravo Board of Directors. Joe Moody currently serves as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Texas House, as Vice Chair of the Calendars Committee, and as a member of the committees on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence, and Redistricting.

Every two years, the Texas Legislature convenes for a 140-day regular legislative session. The 88th Legislature’s regular session began January 10 and runs through May 29, 2023.
