In the 1950s, 70 years before the covid pandemic started, Americans were filled with the Polio Scare. On this week's "Weekend Perspectives," we welcome an El Paso and Las Cruces native who grew up with Polio.

Host Louie Saenz welcomes a formal El Paso Broadcaster and author, Breezy Cade. Due to the unknown cause of the disease, public places such as pools were closed. Later on, scientists discovered that it spread like any other disease, like the Flu: sneezing, and shaking hands, among other unsanitary practices. In his book, Polio: My Life With The Disease, Breezy Cade narrates that he was only five years old when he experienced the horror of the disease and its aftermath.
