Facebook: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of El Paso

On this edition of The Weekend, Host Louie Saenz talks with Rebecca Romero, Development Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso, and Board Member and Sergeant Major at the US Army, Anson Jordan to talk about the life changing program. From his experience as a big brother, Anson remembers the first time he met his “little” and talks about how being a “BIG” changed his life. He also talks about the significance of the program in the Army while Rebecca gives all the details about volunteering.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters started with a judge in a Juvenile Justice Court system who, after seeing the same behavioral problems in the young men that came through due to a lack of parental figures or guidance, created a social club to be a good influence to the youth that needed them. Ever since, for more than 100 years Big Brothers, Big Sisters has supported the development and success of healthy youths by addressing their need for positive adult contact and mentoring in the US, and a great way to give back to the community.
