Mass Shootings And The Texas Response

Monday evening at 6pm, KTEP will join Texas Public Radio to present a state-wide call-in program, Mass Shootings and the Texas Response.

The programs will look at the recent violence in El Paso and Midland/Odessa.  Will the reaction to these latest mass shootings change how Texas deals with gun ownership? Many are calling for action - even a legislative special session.  Others worry about weakening gun rights.

Guests on this special program include:

  • U.S. Representative Veronica Escobar, Texas 16th congressional district
  • Jonathan Levinson, Guns & America reporting fellow
  • David Chipman, senior policy advisory for The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence and former ATF Special Agent
  • Alex Samuels, political reporter for The Texas Tribune
  • Mallory Falk,  El Paso-based reporter for KERA
  • Mitch Borden, Permian Basin reporter for Marfa Public Radio

Tune in Monday at 6pm for a live statewide call-in special: Mass Shootings and the Texas Response on KTEP.
