Arely Avitia (FloraFest 2023)

On this week’s show, Denise, John, and Jan offer tips on how to properly care for, and curate plants in your indoor spaces in hopes to escape from the very hot and humid weather at this time of the year. Our hosts will provide information about any risks or what to avoid such as over-watering your plants, as well as any tips for managing your vegetables, and fruits from the outdoors. Denise will also provide more information on the El Paso County Master Garden's upcoming training.

Many new residents arrive in El Paso each year from climates and growing conditions much different than the Chihuahuan desert. In El Paso County, approximately 25 volunteer gardeners are selected each year and given intensive horticultural training. The Master Gardener program is a docent-training program and the selection process for inclusion is based on the ability and the willingness of the applicant to share with the community what they have learned.

For more information visit the El Paso County Master Gardner’s website for questions, tips, and upcoming calendar events.
