Reliable news has never been more important. At the same time, local news organizations are shrinking. Some places have no local journalists covering critical issues. Others are in danger of losing what they have now. What can be done to bridge the local news gap? The MacArthur Foundation’s effort to support local news includes a survey of the current journalism landscape all along the U.S.-Mexico border. The findings are the focus of a talk hosted by the Puente News Collaborative on Friday September 12 in El Paso at La Nube Steam Discovery, Galeria room, 201 Main Drive. KTEP’s Angela Kocherga has a preview of the presentation by Founder of Impact Architects Lindsay Green-Barber.
