FEATURED Science Studio

Science Studio is a fascinating 30-minute look into the ever progressing world of science. For nearly fifteen years, the show has taken in depth looks into all aspects of scientific researches and discoveries. Science Studio helps you understand the inner workings of today’s science and the professionals behind the research.

Science Studio also features Medical Discovery News, a weekly program that provide insights into a broad range of biomedical science topics.

Dr. Sir Harold Kroto

Sir Harry Kroto is the Francis Eppes Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida State University. He is also the co-discoverer of C60, the Buckminster fullerene molecule, which is a cage molecule with 60 carbon atoms. His parents were refugees and his father wanted him to focus on his math and science studies as a child. He recalls playing with a Meccano set and receiving good marks in chemistry and physics. He visits with Keith Pannell in this edition of Science Studio.

Dr. Joseph Francisco

Joseph Francisco is a prominent chemist and atmospheric scientist known for his groundbreaking research on atmospheric chemistry, including the study of chemical processes on cloud surfaces and in aerosols. He is a professor of chemistry at Purdue University. As a child he was more interested in music until he discovered a book on science fairs. Not knowing much about science fairs led him to the grounds of Lamar University where he met a professor that was studying environmental chemistry. He shares with Keith Pannell and Science Studio how that encounter changed his trajectory.
