FREE MOBILE CLINIC and HEALTH FAIR
FREE MOBILE CLINIC and HEALTH FAIR
On Wednesday, April 8, 8 am-noon, University Presbyterian Church (UPC) welcomes El Pasoans to the free H.O.P.E. Mobile Clinic and Health Fair. The address is 244 North Resler. Free services will be offered, including
*blood and glucose tests
*vaccines
*blood pressure tests
*(even haircuts!)
and many more.
UPC partnered with UTEP health students and faculty members for this event; TTU students will also assist. Many organizations - from the city, county, and nonprofit sector - will be on hand to offer prevention and education services and benefits. These include the Mustard Seed Cafe, with coffee and snacks, and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, with food boxes. Door prices are featured, including a 55" television, gas and food cards.
This is the first time a faith-based institution inside the city has partnered with UTEP for a free and comprehensive mobile clinic and health fair., Perhaps more such partnerships will occur in the future.
We at University Presbyterian Church (UPC) understand that El Paso has a large number of uninsured and underinsured people for health care, so we are happy to work with UTEP, health partner agencies, and our community to make free services available on the morning of April 8th. At least 20 or more UPC volunteers will be on hand to assist. As UPC planning committee members have agreed, "this is our commitment to faith in action."
