Legacy through Layers Mural Project by the Creative Engagement with the Arts and the Soldiers Art Workshop

Legacy through Layers Mural Project by the Creative Engagement with the Arts and the Soldiers Art Workshop

The International Museum of Art is proud to celebrate local art with Legacy through Layers Mural Project organized by the Creative Engagement with the Arts and the Soldiers Art Workshop. This gallery brings service members, spouses, civilian employees and professional artists together to capture the stories of military life. They created 12 original murals that reflect the identity, history and spirit of the participating units. The murals featured will be permanently displayed at selected locations on Fort Bliss after the conclusion of the exhibit. The Soldiers Art Workshop supports soldiers, spouses and their children through fine arts activities with the help of local artists who volunteer to teach in the program.

The International Museum of Art is dedicated to making art accessible to all, offering free admission, exhibitions of local artists, and a rich collection of regional and international artifacts. Thanks to the generous support of our members and donors, we continue to foster cultural understanding and promote the visual arts in El Paso.
