"Literature as a Social Good" with Dr. Andrew Newman

"Literature as a Social Good" with Dr. Andrew Newman

Have you ever wondered why it is that 9th graders all across the country read Romeo and Juliet? Is it important for students across the country to read the same books at all? Just what civic role do we imagine that literature plays in a Democratic society? These questions are for everyone—chances are, you and just about everyone you know wither took an English class in high school, is taking an English class right now, or will take one in the future. Please join us for "Literature as a Social Good" with Dr. Andrew Newman, which is free and open to the public, and will take place on Thursday, April 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the UTEP Undergraduate Learning Center.
