Lunch Lecture: Sisters of Loretto in El Paso with Eva Ross
Wednesday, March 19, at noon
This Women’s History Month, the Magoffin Home State Historic Site invites you to explore the remarkable legacy of the Sisters of Loretto. These Catholic nuns, devoted to their faith and women's empowerment through education, left an indelible mark on the American Southwest.
From their humble beginnings in an 1812 Kentucky log cabin, the Sisters of Loretto built religious schools across Santa Fe, Las Cruces, San Elizario, and El Paso. By founding over 10 schools in the El Paso area, they instilled a love of learning in thousands of young women and paved the way for future generations of female leaders.

Join us at the Magoffin Home State Historic Site on March 19, 2025, for our Brain Trust Lecture featuring community historian and 1965 Loretto Academy alumna, Eva Ross. Together, we’ll celebrate the enduring impact of these pioneering educators and the students whose lives they transformed.

Don’t miss this chance to honor their extraordinary story. Mark your calendar today!
