A screening of a documentary in Spanish, with English subtitles, followed by a discussion with Santiago Esteinou (director) and Joe Spencer (attorney). After 4 decades awaiting execution, César Fierro walked free from death row in Texas--but freedom brought its own challenges, following his return to Mexico, deeply wounded by 40 years of wrongful conviction and imprisonment in solitary confinement.
Doors open at 6:00 pm, film showing will start at 6:30. Nominated for Mexico’s Academy Award (Ariel) in Best Picture & Best Documentary Film.
