Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ visit to El Paso went with little fanfare and no discussion between local leaders, according to County Judge Ricardo Samaniego. The city of El Paso and the El Paso Municipal Officers Association completed collective bargaining discussions this week. Texans pay some of the highest property taxes in the country. But, some state lawmakers are looking to change that.
