Federal agents at the Downtown Paso del Norte International Bridge closed the port of entry after migrants led a large demonstration near it in Mexico. SB 9, a bill that would create a teacher residency program and give Texas teachers an across-the-board 2,000-dollar bonus, passed in the Texas Senate. Republican State Senator Brandon Creighton [CRATE-in] is the bill’s lead author. But education groups say it doesn’t go far enough.
