There were concerns a large influx of migrants would request asylum at the border as soon as Title 42 expired. Heading east, along the border, migrants waiting to turn themselves in to Border Patrol agents at the border fence, ran out of time. As Title 42 expired, Texas troopers and state National Guard troops blocked their path. They strung up razor wire in front of the gate where hundreds of migrants were in a long line waiting for their chance to be let in by Border Patrol agents for processing.
