The El Paso Independent School District school board unanimously voted in favor of appointing businessman Jack Loveridge to fill a trustee vacancy. Starting Monday, the city and El Paso Water will host public meetings over impact fees, which are collected from developers building on the fringes of the city. More than 65,000 people have enrolled in a state department initiative that allows Americans to sponsor refugees. The Mexican Consulate in El Paso will host a two-day youth and under 23 soccer tournament at the Westside Sports Complex.
