Immigrant rights groups and El Paso-based Las Americas Immigrant Rights Advocacy Center sued the Biden administration today. El Paso County District Attorney Bill Hicks said his office will appeal the dismissal of misdemeanor “riot participation” charges against hundreds of migrants. Democratic nominee Christina Sanchez is now serving as El Paso County Attorney with a unanimous vote from the commissioners court. Texas has escalated its fight against a federal judge who oversees its foster care system asking the 5th circuit to remove her from the case.
