Attorneys for the gunman who carried out the Walmart mass shooting in El Paso are asking the court to dismiss his capital murder indictment – or remove the death penalty. The request comes days before a hearing. The El Paso County Commissioners Court voted to renew an agreement with the New Mexico Department of Transportation that provides bus service between El Paso and Las Cruces during the week. Ector County has issued a disaster declaration in response to pollution from a recent chemical fire at an industrial facility in Odessa.
