The El Paso County Commissioners court approved an agreement with a nonprofit to open a diversion center for intoxicated individuals in police custody. El Paso seniors and Mexican young adults are the ones frequently crossing the region’s international bridge, according to an ongoing survey by the city’s International Bridges Department. The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up a years long dispute over whether nuclear waste from across the country can be shipped to a site in Andrews County near the New Mexico border.
