The city of El Paso paid out $4.2 million dollars extra for employee salaries in 2024. The increases in salaries came primarily from overtime pay in the police and fire department, according to the city’s budget office. Texas lawmakers are again attempting to get death row inmate Robert Roberson to testify this week about the use of junk science in his conviction. Elon Musk wants the Starbase site for SpaceX to become a new Texas city. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs will award $100,000 dollars to the Opportunity Center for the Homeless in El Paso.
