The gunman who killed 23 people at a Walmart in El Paso in 2019 will not face the death penalty. The El Paso County Commissioners Court voted to move forward with a plan to issue $52 million dollars in debt to pay for street and water projects. The Texas Senate passed a bill that would make it a criminal offense to create deep fake videos of candidates in an effort to sway an election. A federal judge in San Antonio has struck down Texas’ mail ballot ID requirements, finding they violated the rights of people with disabilities.
