A coalition of community groups say they oppose El Paso Electrics proposed rate hikes under consideration by the state of Texas. A group of money exchange businesses near the border has at least a couple more weeks before it may be required to collect the personal identification of some customers. Texas lawmakers and Gov. Greg Abbott have created a state-version of DOGE to make the state more business friendly. The Texas Lottery Commission is being sued over the agency’s statewide ban on online lottery courier services.
