KTEP News Round Up; May 16, 2025

KTEP

In this week’s news roundup, KTEP’s Angela Kocherga and Aaron Montes discuss the El Paso City Council’s decision to move the proposed site for a public safety complex that would house the police and fire department headquarters to airport property. City officials say early cost estimates over the project are over budget by $58 million. And, Montes shares what the county plans to do with over $50 million in certificates of obligation, non-voter approved debt, for water and wastewater projects. Kocherga also shares the impact from a decision to close border crossing of cattle due to concern of a flesh-eating parasite.
