KTEP News Round Up; May 23, 2025

KTEP

In this week’s news roundup, KTEP’s Angela Kocherga and Aaron Montes discuss what El Paso elected officials have to say about bail legislation moving through the state legislature. County officials are concerned about people’s rights and capacity at local jails. Kocherga tells us what El Paso Democratic Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and Republican Tony Gonzales, who represents the Far East, Fort Bliss and parts of Northeast, had to say about the federal budget bill. Montes also previews what to expect at next week’s EPISD school board meeting where trustees are scheduled to discuss superintendent Diana Sayavedra’s employment and responsibilities.
