Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick condemned Governor Greg Abbott for vetoing a bill that would ban the sale of products containing THC. One of the bills Abbott vetoed on Sunday included one co-authored by El Paso’s Joe Moody, related to the release of certain people detained in jail while awaiting trial. Governor Greg Abbott also signed a bill that would limit land sales to non-citizens from several countries, including China. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is opening a new facility in South Texas to combat the New World screwworm.
