KTEP News Round Up; June 20, 2025

KTEP

In this week’s news roundup, KTEP’s Angela Kocherga and Aaron Montes discuss the latest at City Hall. Montes says the City Council is preparing to evaluate top executives including city manager Dionne Mack, city attorney Karla Nieman, and auditor Edmundo Calderon. Montes also says the city is reviewing bids made by developers looking to purchase city owned properties in the Union Plaza neighborhood. And, the city is reviewing bids from contractors for repairs to the Sun Metro maintenance facility that was damaged by an explosion earlier this year. The blast killed two people and injured others. Kocherga also talks about a lawsuit over whether the Trump administration can close Job Corps centers across the country including in El Paso. And, what one family is doing to save money on grocery costs.
