Today, The Texas legislature kicked off a series of hearings on redistricting. Texas Democrats believe Gov. Abbott added redistricting to the special session in an effort to keep Trump in control of the U.S. House. A Texas committee also began hearings focused on floods Wednesday. A Texan who was the first woman to serve as superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy is being assigned by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
