The El Paso City Council will vote on the proposed tax rate next Tuesday. The proposed rate would be a reduction compared to last year, and one that will be the lowest in a decade. A 39-year-old Socorro man pleaded guilty to charges prosecutors described as a quote “crime spree” between 2019 and 2014. Nine Democratic Latino political operatives and officials have pleaded not guilty to criminal voter fraud, charges brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
