A lawsuit alleging Texas has violated the rights of Black and Latino voters with a new Congressional map began today in an El Paso federal courtroom. While the federal government has shut down, many essential federal workers remain on the job – albeit unpaid. Robert Roberson is set to be executed by the State of Texas later this month, despite the overwhelming evidence that he may be innocent.
