El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson cast a tie-breaking vote over a proposed settlement with the Texas Gas Service in its request to raise rates and consolidate services throughout Texas. The Texas Transportation Commission has approved more than $31 million dollars for the Paso del Norte Trail. Early voting is underway in a runoff election for mayor in the Village of Vinton. Texas Congressman Troy Nehls announced Saturday that he will not run for reelection next year.
