At Least 50 Egyptians Killed In Bloody Clash
Egyptian troops opened fire on Muslim Brotherhood protesters in Cairo on Monday, leaving more than 40 people dead and hundreds more wounded. There are conflicting accounts of what sparked the bloodshed, but police and troops have cleared the square in front of the Republican Guard headquarters where the Brotherhood protesters had gathered to demand the release of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.

Key Witness Takes Stand In Whitey Bulger Trial

On Monday, the court heard testimony from Kevin Weeks, a key witness in the trial. Weeks was a bouncer and friend to Bulger and also admitted to helping out in five murders.

Washington Monument Now Glows At Night
While there's scaffolding so that workers can repair cracks and other damages from the 2011 earthquake, lights will illuminate the monument each evening. For at least the next six months or so, Washington will have a nighttime treat.
