It's been a bad month in U.S.-Afghan relations and efforts to negotiate a long-term security pact have been sidelined by a series of controversies and rhetorical bombshells. As the end of the NATO mission creeps closer, Afghans are increasingly worried that the bad atmospherics between Washington and Kabul could leave the Afghan people without enough U.S. support and vulnerable to predatory neighbors.

Eric Shinseki is the longest serving Secretary of Secretary of Veterans' Affairs (VA), at a time when the VA is dealing with a new young generation of veterans as well as a huge aging veteran population. Last summer he spoke at the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention and made some promises. On Tuesday, he addressed the VFW again, after a year that included prominent calls for his resignation.

Plan B To Hit Shelves, Protected From Generics
Plan B One-Step, which costs around $50, will be available on pharmacy and other retail shelves without age restriction. But the much cheaper, two-pill versions will remain behind the pharmacy counter, with prescriptions required for those under age 17.
