Homeland, which puts the battle against terrorism on American soil, was honored Sunday night as best drama series at the Emmy Awards. The show's stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis also won trophies. Modern Family was named best comedy.

Village Voice To Split From Ad Site
Village Voice Media Holdings, the company that publishes the newspaper of the same name, is breaking up with its controversial advertising service. Backpage.com has been accused of facilitating sex trafficking, and activists have been pressuring the Village Voice to shut down its adult classifieds service.

Dow 30: UnitedHealth Replaces Kraft
Starting Monday, Kraft Food will no longer be included in the Dow Jones industrial average. It's been replaced by health care company UnitedHealth. Those who run the average said the swap was prompted by Kraft's decision to spin off part of its business. The move makes the company too small to be include in the average.

Mexican Drug War Chokes Nuevo Laredo With Fear
Narcotraffickers battling over turf in northern Mexico's border town of Nuevo Laredo have left a trail of bodies and a populace afraid to speak. Last week, nine corpses were dumped near the outskirts of the city. Making matters worse, 131 inmates escaped from a prison in about two hours outside Nuevo Laredo.

Foxconn Temporarily Closes iPhone Plant After Riot
Thousands of workers in northern China rioted inside a Foxconn plant to protest their treatment by security guards. The company says about 40 people went to the hospital with injuries. Foxconn has come under intense scrutiny for its working conditions.

Canadian Man Returns To Ireland To Find Lost Love
Sandy Crocker was touring in Ireland when he met a freckled woman with reddish-brown hair. They spoke for a couple minutes at a cafe and then she left. Back in Canada, he was heartbroken. Crocker is back in Ireland and plans to spend a month searching for the girl who got away.

'Amazing Scene' As Riot Shuts Foxconn Plant In China
Authorities say 2,000 workers went on a rampage over a "personal dispute." Some workers, though, are saying the dispute relates to on-going tensions at the factory where products are made for Apple and other high-tech giants.
