U.S. wireless carriers reached a deal with the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday that will make it easier for consumers to "unlock" their mobile phones and use them on a competitor's network.
French Cafe Charges Rude Customers More
The manager of Le Petit Syrah in Nice imposed a cost on rudeness. Demand "a coffee," and it's $9.50, in dollars. Say "please," and the price drops to $6. And if you greet the waiter with a friendly "bonjour," the bill comes to $2.

An Elegy For Mandela Looks Back In Mourning, Forward In Hope
Mbali Vilakazi, the winner of our Poetry Games last year, honors Mandela's memory with a poem, "The Black Pimpernel." The title is a derogatory nickname given to Mandela in his revolutionary days.
